Joseph Canestrari lived a very selfless life. He truly embodied compassion both professionally and personally. His idea of expression was always to serve others. The career Joseph embarked on was first started to serve his country in the United States Air Force. He was a physical therapist and helped countless disabled veterans and active duty members.
As a decorated officer, Joseph received many honors. Among them was “Physical Therapist of the Year” for the entire Armed Forces, as well as the Advisor to the Surgeon General in the area of physical therapy. His love for his patients and expertise were always recognized, and he still made time to coach his children’s sports.
Joseph was selfless in his personal life as well. His family always came first. He was a devoted husband, and a father to four grateful boys. A brother that was always ready to help his siblings, and a friend that you could count on when in need. He supported many friends and relatives in his home to help get them back on their feet.
Joseph was genuine, honest, giving, kind, and most of all compassionate. He never strived for recognition, and was only concerned with the well being of others. Joseph has left a legacy of love behind him, and a lasting impression on the lives of others. In his spirit, this foundation will help to keep his selfless legacy going by benefiting causes that reflect the life he led.
